National Helpline - Women's Aid 24hr National Freephone

Women’s Aid provide confidential support and information to women and children living with domestic violence who need emergency or ongoing support through the National Freephone Helpline, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

National Helpline - National Rape Crisis Helpline (run by DRCC)

Dublin Rape Crisis Centre (DRCC) operates the national 24-Hour Helpline at Freephone 1800 778888 to support anyone affected by sexual violence, for free and in confidence, 24/7/365 days a year.

  • For those who prefer to message, DRCC provides a webchat support service online at www.drcc.ie, Mon-Friday, 10am-2pm (except holidays)
  • The National Helpline offers an interpreting service to provide instant access to support for callers in more than 200 languages.
  • People who are Deaf or hard of hearing can avail of our text service at 086-8238443, Mon-Fri 8am – 6:30pm (except holidays)

Besides Helpline support, DRCC provides one-to-one therapy and counselling – contact [email protected] or phone 1800778888 during office hours to find out more.

We offer accompaniment support that includes information, listening support and physical accompaniment to anyone who is considering reporting to the Gardai or who is attending court.

Our accompaniment workers are also present in the Sexual Assault Treatment Unit at the Rotunda Hospital, Dublin to provide psychological & emotional support to those attending the unit for medical care and/or forensic examination after sexual violence.
